Grass Routes & the Responsible Tourism Awards

Last night the core team of Grass Routes celebrated an important announcement.

Grass Routes has been long listed for the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards 2008, founded and organised by online travel directory responsibletravel.com, in association with The Daily Telegraph, World Travel Market and Geographical Magazine.

The Responsible Tourism Awards are the largest of their kind in the world and this year attracted over 1900 nominations from members of the public for over 500 tourism organisations and individuals.

Grass Routes is one of 19 organisations to be listed in the Best of Conservation of Cultural Heritage catergory.

This has come as an awesome surprise for us, as we feel we have only just began our work in this field and have much more work ahead. The nomination encourages us to continue our efforts and draws valuable recognition toward tourisms role in conserving cultural heritage.
